Nicole has always had dogs and cats but wondered what would she do if faced with homelessness or financial hardships? Could she give up her pets? It would feel like giving up your children. What a devastating decision to make because of the unconditional love and comfort they give. It was at that moment she decided to start HEAL KC.
Nicole King is the founder of Humans Enriching Animals Lives-Kansas City (HEAL-KC). Throughout her professional career, she has had the opportunity to work in a diverse group of industries from Superintendent of a charter school to federal service. For over 15 years, Nicole has consistently worked as a volunteer within animal welfare as an outreach team member and grant writer for rescue organizations. She actively focused her efforts on animal rescue for sanctuaries in rural communities. She strives to build and strengthen trusting relationships with community members and find the most effective ways to help more animals and the people who love them. She resides and works in Kansas City and Independence, Missouri, adventuring with her dogs, cats, and one human.
HEAL KC is proud to display the transparency of the nonprofit by providing you with 501(c)(3) documentation. HEAL KC receives no government funding.
